The park was nice but the restrooms were always muddy from the rainy weather. They also keep the doors open all the time (no privacy!). The security guard at night was overwhelming and made it very uncomfortable. We complained to the front office, but that did not do any good.
We camped here with our camping club for the weekend. The campsite was great. There was a nice playground for the kids and the staff was very friendly. We took a nice bike ride around the levee on Lake Okeechobee. The park is also very clean and well maintained. There was no shady spots, but luckily the weather was cool. There were also nice fire pits which we used every night. As stated in other reviews, the surrounding areas are rundown and blighted, so not much to do outside of the campground. We plan on staying here again before the summer months come.
We stayed here over the Halloween weekend. They ran a great special that also included 2 days in the Lion Country park. They had plenty of Halloween activities for the kids too! Most folks decorated their campsites and it looked like a Halloween village. Trick or treating was so easy and safe! The campground is always spotless and the staff is friendly. Wish there was a bit more shade though. We would definitely come back here again, especially for Halloween.
This campground is literally in the middle of nowhere. The grounds were clean & in the summer, we were just about the only campers there. There was not much for the kids to do. They had mini golf which kept them occupied for most of the time. The pool was also nice. Tiny store & nothing else around to go to, so we had fun by making our own fun. The spots were nice and shaded and we were able to beat the heat by staying in the shaded spot & using the pool.
Very shady & wooded, however, the inner spots are accessed by dirt roads that are tight! Took a few tries to get my camper backed in. Thank goodness for other helpful campers that guided me in. Friendly staff and clean! Would definitely come back here.
